International humanitarian relief, conflict and stabilisation expert and a visiting lecturer of disaster management at the University of Birmingham (UK). Extensive first-hand experience in managing humanitarian complex emergencies and natural disasters, including assessment, setting up operations, programme design and implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. Moustafa is a master trainer for SPHERE (Humanitarian charter and minimum standards in humanitarian response) and INEE (Education in emergencies) in English and Arabic. He is an associate trainer with INTRAC, a UK Government Deployable Civilian Expert (DCE), a member of the DRC Stand-by Member Roster a member of Professionals in Humanitarian Assistance and Protection (PHAP) and of RedR. Since 2008 Moustafa has been working as independent consultant to UN and other major humanitarian agencies. He has significant experience in post-conflict stabilisation programmes in the Middle East, and experience working for a variety of implementers and donors including GIZ, DFID and OCHA. Moustafa has formerly been Head of the Humanitarian Department at a number of aid agencies. He has over 20 years’ experience in humanitarian and post-conflict rehabilitation in over 70 countries. Currently he is the founder and director of Osman Consulting Ltd (Humanitarian and stabilisation Experts).
