Are you looking for resources available on data management in the context of the current COVID-19 crisis?

CartONG has just compiled a detailed list of key resources available in French & English for NGOs. This page is there to fill a gap identified by aid actors in the field.

We invite you to check it out and to share it. The page will be regularly updated for the full duration of the pandemic.

We also would like to highlight the note that we released on April 10th, 2020 on how to adapt one's data collection for monitoring and accountability purposes during the pandemic.

While humanitarian and development programs need to adapt to the epidemic by integrating the constraints of social distancing (limiting the frequency, proximity and quantity of “face-to-face” activities), the same applies to Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and accountability mechanisms.

This note is intended for headquarters and field teams in charge of M&E and aims to help them adapt by summarizing the possible technological alternatives concerning:

  • data collection mechanisms
  • ways information is exchanged with communities
  • related data protection issues

The note is also available in French here.

CartONG

CartONG, a French NGO, was set up in 2006 by cartographers who wanted to improve the way aid agencies were using maps and geographic information. It has since expanded and now offers many innovative tools of information management, mapping, analysis and communication to aid organizations.
